![]() If this world could have more artists like that, ones who always recognized the power of loyalty to brotherhood, who didn't give up in spite of terrible odds, and who strove for extreme excellence even if no one was watching, yet able to deliver at a world class level when people were, then perhaps we'd find another Guan Yu out there to cherish for eons to come. China, although deceptive at times (a lot of times), does have an astounding and truly heroic work ethic from great men such as Guan Yu, men who were much too humble to accept such a large statue in their honor. It was around the time of Zheng He, another Chinese hero (the equivalent of Columbus over here, except Zheng He did way more). I remember watching a documentary where one Chinese leader wanted to make something so huge that it was never completed.
